Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 October, 10 am - 4 pm
This two day workshop will explore the grisaille method of monochrome painting developing the image fully in glazes of pale to opaque greys. From this base personal interpretations can flourish. This lively and fun workshop focuses on a loose early interpretation of the chosen subject, suggested reference a black and white photo, on a fairly large scale, allowing for the early expressive and varied marks to find their own direction and potentially change the course of the painting. You will be encouraged to paint a subject you are most interested in as the techniques explored can be used on any subject from boats to flowers.
Steve will advise what to bring on enrolment. All paint included, there will be the opportunity to purchase canvases/ painting surfaces.
